Woman Injured After Car Collides with Light Pole on Pinebrook Boulevard

A 93-year old woman was injured following a one car collision on Pinebrook Boulevard. Initial reports are that the woman fell asleep at the wheel driving a white Hyundai Elantra. The car drifted to the right and struck a light pole just north of Forest Avenue.

Upon impact, air bags deployed. Parts of the vehicle were found by firefighters more than 30 feet down the road and the car battery was hanging out of the front of the vehicle near the ground.

Police were first on the scene and called in the collision at about 12:56 p.m.
