  1. Make sure there closed by 900pm
beach bar must close by 900pm or Echo bay will go nuts

  2. Support the good things or lose them
I found out last week that an old friend was part or the BeachBar endeavour. One thing I know about New Rochelle, people rarely support businesses or anything good, then they disappear and everyone wonders why no one takes a chance on New Rochelle. I for one am just about to leave to enjoy a night at Hudson park with my family. Loberst, live band and lighted boat show sounds like a great way to support New Rochelle. How about you?

    1. Vote Down?
Could you explain what you don’t like about that post? I’ve found the apathy in New Rochelle to be one of the biggest problems.

      1. what voting up-down means
As I mentioned in a previous article, the up/down voting is currently open to any visitor on the site. In the coming days I will begin to restrict that to logged in, registered users of the site.

It would appear that there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpose of up/down voting.

It is not meant as a referendum on whether you AGREE with the sentiment expressed in the article or comment. A upvoteis more about whether you would recommend it to other readers based on quality, on what it adds to the site. A downvote is reserved more for troll like comments, spam, etc.

The idea is that voters are helping edit the site. We want diversity of opinion but we do not want trolls. To that extend, the updown voting is a sort of self-policing mechanisms.

For this reason, the ability to vote will be reserved only for registered users who are logged in, people who have something invested in the site.

If it turns out that even this is to open, I may create a special class of user that can vote and manually add people to that class.
