Obituary: Andrew Rose (1922 – 2012) U.S. Navy Sailor in WWII

Andrew F. Rose, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2012.

He was born on March 27, 1922 to Samuel and Mary Rose. He served in the Navy on PT boats in the South Pacific for 30 months during WWII, and later in life became a member of the PT Boats. Inc. He worked as a furniture refinisher for over 40 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Dorothy (Kelly) Rose. He is also survived by his devoted children Susan, Andrew Jr., (Pamela) and Richard (Louise) and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew J. (Kristen), Kaitlin, Marie, Jaclyn, Richard and Andrew III. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Edward and Lawrence.

Visiting hours are Thursday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle where a funeral service will be held on Friday 10am. Interment private. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association .
