Woman Drives Car Into Front Door of I.B. Cohen on Main Street in Downtown New Rochelle

Written By: Robert Cox

A woman trying to get out of the way of an ambulance driving behind her, drove her vehicle onto the sidewalk and into the window of the I.B. Cohen store at 525 Main Street in downtown New Rochelle. The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken from the scene in an ambulance. No pedestrians were injured.

Main Street was shut down and traffic redirected for about half hour.

I.B. Cohen is a family-owned men’s clothing store that has been in New Rochelle for 124 years. In 2007, the windows at I.B. Cohen were smashed in during a melee involving a group of New Rochelle High School students. The windows were smashed in again last May when an unknown person smashed the windows overnight.
