Lucy A. Rohan ( -2013)

Lucy A. Rohan, lifelong New Rochelle resident, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 7, 2013.

Lucy was born in New Rochelle to Michael A. and Theresa (D’Alesandro) Parisi, she was educated and graduated from the New Rochelle School System. During the war years, she was a machine operator at the Rex Co. Defense Plant. She married Joseph Rohan in 1954 at St. Gabriel’s Church in New Rochelle, afterwards she and Joseph were communicants of the Holy Family Church in New Rochelle for over 50 years. She was a stay at home mom, and was devoted to raising their sons, Joseph, Jr. and Michael. Lucy was class mother for her sons throughout their school years, going on class trips, and working at the school bake sales.

When her sons attended secondary schools, Lucy was hired in 1971 by the New Rochelle Police Dept., as a school crossing and retired after 20 years in 1991. A devout Christian, she observed all masses and holy days at Holy Family Church.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband, Joseph on March 12, 2007, her sisters, Mildred Longabucco, Lena Pepicello, Theresa Patz, and her brother Pat Parisi.She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Jr. and Michael, and his wife Theresa.Visiting hours will be Sunday 3-9 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday 9:30 am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
