New Rochelle Schools Superintendent to Have Major Surgery, Out 3 to 6 Weeks

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In a brief statement read during tonight’s meeting of the New Rochelle Board of Education, Schools Superintendent Richard Organisciak announced that he will be undergoing major surgery on March 14th.

Organisciak stated that he expected to be out for 3 to 6 weeks but would be available during that time, working from home.

He said that Assistant Superintendent Jeffrey Korostoff will be serving as point person for the district during his absence.

Richard Organisciak has had serious medical issues in the past. Sources familiar with the matter described Organisciak’s condition “serious”.

Superintendent Organisciak will be entering into the final year of his contract in July.
