WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Puglia Center of America, in collaboration with Westchester County, will present an exhibition of Italian art by the Arcane Movement, titled “Magic Colors of Italy,” at ArtsWestchester, 31 Mamaroneck Ave. White Plains. The exhibit is open to the public and runs until Friday, March 15, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. each day.
County Executive Robert P. Astorino will open the exhibition on Monday, March 11 at 7 p.m., as part of the Year of Italian Culture in the United States, declared by the Italian government. Janet Langsam, CEO of ArtsWestchester, and Maestro Luciano Lamonarca, president and founder of the Puglia Center of America, will be part of the event.
“This will be a great exhibit,” said Astorino, “and one – I can assure you – you don’t have to be Italian to appreciate.”
Lamonarca said: “We are thrilled that County Executive Astorino is opening our show. The exhibit is just part of our celebration of Italian culture in Westchester. We will also have concerts, photos exhibits and a wonderful Puglia Food & Wine Show.”
The Arcane Movement originated from the reflection of art critic Paolo Levi and consists of five member artists. The style of art has been described as spiritual, mysterious and dreamy without being surreal.
