Filippo Calabro, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on June 21, 2013. He was 81.
Filippo was born on May 30, 1932 in Italy to the late Placido and Filippa (Cardile) Calabro. He was a grounds keeper at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery for many years.
He is survived by his wife the former Domenica Messina whom he married on July 9, 1970; his children Philip Calabro and his wife Christina, Joanne Parziale and her husband Paolo, and Patrick Calabro; his three grandsons Frank, Nicholas and Nicholas; his sister Giuseppina Calabro and a brother Paolo Calabro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Giovanni and a sister Flavia.
Visiting hours will be Sunday and Monday 5-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel 16 Shea Place New Rochelle, NY. A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. www.lloydmaxcy.com
