NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle is recruiting qualified adult and youth (currently in grades 9 and 10) residents to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the New Rochelle Youth Board. There are several vacancies open at this time and applications will be received until Wednesday, March 19.

The Board of Commissioners is comprised of twenty-one volunteer members who meet regularly at City Hall on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The normal term is four years. The Board continually strives to meet the challenging needs and concerns of the City’s youth population, up through twenty-one years old.

“Joining the Board is a great way for youth and adult residents with an interest in youth issues and community services, to step forward and provide leadership and creative suggestions for our City’s youth population,” said City Manager Charles B. Strome, III.

“Having youth on our Board of Commissioners enables us to include a necessary voice regarding future youth development and general advocacy of youth needs,” said Kelly Johnson, Youth Bureau Director.

Interested candidates must be New Rochelle residents. Applications can be obtained in the Youth Bureau office located in City Hall, 515 North Avenue. For further information, contact Mr. Kelly Johnson at (914) 654-2045 during office hours 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM Monday-Friday; after-hours callers may leave a phone message.

All applications must be received by Wednesday, March 19th at 4:30 P.M. and returned to:
