The pair, who together have coached baseball, softball, basketball and football games in Westchester County for over a decade, have launched A-GAME SPORTS, a business for and about kids who love sports, but are in need of proper training and positive reinforcement to take their game to the next level.

Beginning this summer (July 7-August 15), A-GAME SPORTS launches a six week baseball day camp that will be held at Flowers (City) Park, a state of the art all weather turf field located in New Rochelle, NY. Parents can register kids ages 7-14 for a minimum of one week, the entire six week session or any number of weeks where they will be put through the paces with the guidance of seasoned baseball coaches and professionals. Additionally, A-GAME SPORTS plans to offer camper scholarships for Westchester County students who have excelled both academically and on the field but do not have the resources to finance a summer camp experience.

Participants will be instructed in various areas of the game, from pitching to hitting to fielding to game play. Additionally, strength training and conditioning will be a part of the program so that children are taught the importance of stretching their muscles to prevent injury on the field. Campers will also get the chance to attend minor and major league baseball games where they will get the opportunity to tour professional stadiums and meet some of the most talented players in the state.

An open house for all prospective campers and their parents will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 9am-3pm at the Picnic Pavilion area at the Flowers City Park complex. Students interested in applying for the camp scholarship program are invited to attend the open house and submit their most recent report card along with a letter of recommendation from a teacher or coach. “The City of New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to host the inaugural A-Game Sports summer six-week baseball training camp (July 7 – August 15) for kids ages 7-14 at our premier athletic facility, Flowers (City) Park stated Parks & Recreation Commissioner Bill Zimmermann. The park, located on Fifth Avenue, New Rochelle, was completely renovated this past year as part of the Westchester County Legacy Program and features turf playing fields as well as the Sidney E. Frank Skatepark.

“We look forward to bringing our love and appreciation for the game of baseball to children in our area with a summer day camp experience that will challenge and excite them,” commented Darin Feldman, co-founder of A-GAME SPORTS. “The launch of the A-Game Sports day camp is just the beginning. Our ultimate goal is to offer baseball, soccer and lacrosse training for kids with the opening of a full service facility in lower Westchester County later this year,” Kevin Plein added.
