New Rochelle Police Join in Search For Wanted Suspect

Screen Shot 2014 06 06 at 12 42 44 PMNEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police joined the search for Leroy Bouche, wanted by police for running down an investigator working for the Westchester County District Attorney with a car early Friday morning in Mount Vernon. The suspect is 6 foot 3 inches tall and last seen wearing a orange shirt a orange hat and bluejeans he might have two handguns on him and is to be consider armed and dangerous.

The suspect abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. The hit-and-run occurred at Station Place and Lafayette Avenue in Mount Vernon.

The DA investigator, a Yonkers police officer, works with the County narcotics unit. He was taken to Jacobi hospital and is reported to be in stable condiion.

Westchester County Police blood hounds are tracking the suspect near the Hutchison River Parkway on the New Rochelle-Eastchester board. Police have set up check points along Pelhamdale Avenue and New Rochelle Road near the overpass of the Hutch.

Police from Mount Vernon, Eastchester, New Rochelle and Westchester County are on scene along with the Westchester County K-9 units, the Westchester County helicopter and an armored personnel carrier from MVPD.

UPDATE: The first bloodhound tracked up Parkview Drive and got a strong scent around 18 Parkview Drive. Police approached the house with weapons drawn including rifles. People coming outside of their homes to observe are being told to get back in their houses and lock the doors.

UPDATE 11:10 AM: New Rochelle police got a call from a tow truck driver that near Lincoln Avenue in New Rochelle and Memorial Highway he observed a black male wearing an orange shirt and black pants lying down in the bed of a black pickup truck. He observed the person exit the vehicle at Brook Street and enter Heritage Homes One. New Rochelle police were able to observe this person using CCTV cameras. New Rochelle police detectives viewed video from inside CCTV cameras but left the scene.

UPDATE 12:20 PM: Police are leaving the scene at New Rochelle Road and Pelhamdale Road.

    A robo call from the principal @ Webster School stated the school was in a “lockout” from early morning until 11:30 when they were cleared to open. Children will be kept indoors as a precaution for the balance of the day
