PotholefixWESTCHESTER, NY — Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced today that $5 million in capital funds is now available to make repairs to 40 damaged county roads.

First announced on May 1 during his annual State of the County Address, Astorino’s “Road and Bridge Urgent Restoration Program” puts money aside so the county can swiftly fix potholes and make other urgent repairs to county roads and bridges often caused by storms. The Board of Legislators approved the plan on Tuesday by a 16-0 vote.

“This is a big win for taxpayers and motorists,” Astorino said. “Last year’s storms and tough winter did a number on our roads, and while our road crews did a good job making repairs where necessary, this new program gives the county the capability to respond more quickly when urgent repairs are needed.”

Based on damage caused last winter, 40 projects (list attached) have been identified to be repaired under the program.
