WESTCHESTER, NY — County Executive Robert P. Astorino announced today that over $500,000 has been allocated to add additional service to the county’s Bee-Line bus system for 2014 and 2015.

“The Bee-Line bus system is essential to Westchester,” said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. “With an average of 100,000 passengers per day, it is crucial that we continue to enhance services where needed.”

After thorough review, the county’s Department of Public Works and Transportation deemed the service changes necessary to improve on-time performance as well as provide additional opportunities for residents to get to local shopping centers, work and school. Funding for the service additions was made possible due to increased federal and state aid.
