The College of New Rochelle Names Alfredo Riullano Aquatics Director

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Alfredo Ruillano is The College of New Rochelle’s new Aquatics Director and swimming head coach, it was announced today by CNR’s Director of Athletics and the Wellness Center, Harold Crocker.

“Alfredo brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and positive outcomes to The College of New Rochelle,” said Crocker. “He has demonstrated the ability to grow and expand swim programs and aquatics centers, the success of which are both integral to the College’s strategic plan.”

Ruillano joins the Blue Angels after several years as the head coach at the New Rochelle YMCA and the Mt. Kisco Country Club, where he also served as Aquatics Director. He has held coaching positions with the New Rochelle and Stamford (Connecticut) New York Sports Clubs and the Mt. Vernon YMCA. He has additional experience as the Aquatics Director at the Greenwich Country Club.

As Aquatics Director, Ruillano will be responsible for staffing and management of the Wellness Center pool. He will also oversee all swim meets and serves as lifeguarding and physical education instructor and coordinate additional swimming programming for the College and local communities.

Riullano oversaw all aspects of the Sailfish swim club at the New Rochelle YMCA, doubling the size of the program during his tenure. He led the team to great success, having nearly 30 swimmers qualify for the New York YMCA State Championships, with several swimmers earning top 3 individual finishes. His swimmers also qualified for both the Metro Junior Olympics and Zone qualifiers. Riullano also mentored a swimmer who broke three Westchester Fairfield Swim League records.

Ruillano is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor and has USA and ASCA Level II certifications. He holds CPO and P.O.O.L. certifications.

The Marist College graduate earned a BA in Fine Arts, majoring in digital media and photography. He was an All-American and a three-time All-MAAC honoree on the football field for the Red Foxes. Ruillano is still listed in the program’s record book in several categories.

Ruillano currently resides in Mount Vernon.
