3 Wounded in Lincoln Park Shooting Incident in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Three people were wounded Sunday night after shots were fired in the area of Lincoln Park and the Remington Boys & Girls Club. Witnesses told police that shots were fired from the wall of the Boys & Girls Club towards a group of people at the basketball court in the center of Lincoln Park.

Initial reports were that two shooters fled the scene on bicycles. A bicycle was abandoned on Guion Place where DMV drivers tests are given. Another bicycle was found on Van Guilder.

A shot was fired in the vicinity of the Schaefer Medical Pavilion at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. Police later confirmed a bullet shattered a window in Room 328. No one in the building was injured.

Initial reports were that two victims were taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and one was refusing medical treatment. A later report was that two victims were taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and one to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

New Rochelle Police closed off the entire park as a crime scene as officers canvassed the park for evidence.
