NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Public Library Board of Trustees inducted two new members at their October 2nd meeting. Charles F. Burke, Jr. and Damon R. Maher were appointed to the board to fill two vacancies resulting from resignations of two elected board members. Following the resignation of former board members Bernardo Nunez, who moved out of state, and Bo Kemp, whose work now requires extensive travel, the library’s Board of Trustees instituted the process for the appointment of temporary replacements. Mr. Burke and Mr. Maher, both New Rochelle residents, submitted the requested applications for the positions. Mr. Burke, an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley, and Mr. Maher, a partner in the law firm of Levy and Maher, will each bring to the Board of Trustees valuable expertise and a commitment to strengthening the library.

The annual Library election in May, 2015, will now include elections for three library trustee positions: one for the regularly-scheduled election of a trustee for a 5-year term, one to complete Mr. Kemp’s term, which will end in 2018, and one to complete the remainder of Mr. Nunez’s term, which will end in 2017.

The Library Board of Trustees meets in the library’s Ossie Davis Theater on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm, with a public-to-be-heard session at 8:15 pm.
