NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle dropped a home meet against St. Joseph’s-Long Island Friday afternoon 96-72.
Claudia Benitez finished second in the 200 Free with a time of 2:45.61 edging Golden Eagles swimmer Sara Viola by less than one second. Benitez also led the 200 Free Relay to a first place finish with a time of 2:26.73 along with teammates Beatriz Lucero, Diana Vasquez, and Ilsy Rodriguez.
Lucero swam well for the Blue Angels in the 100 Free with a third place finish in 1:27.05 just two seconds shy of Alexis Domin of St.Joseph’s. Rodriquez picked up a second place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:58.69.
The Blue Angels jump back in the pool Saturday November 15 for a duel meet with Notre Dame University of Maryland and John Jay College at the Wellness Center starting at 1pm.
