NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of flames coming from the roof of a business located at 28 Webster Avenue, the site of County Beverage early Sunday morning.

Police arrived on scene at about 5:30 a.m. to find a car parked up against a nearby building fully engulfed in flames.

New Rochelle fire fighters had already put out the fire when they discovered a badly burned body inside the car.

The man was identified as Rafael Manzo, 32, of Webster Avenue in New Rochelle, according to Lohud.com. The cause of death was smoke inhalation. The death is not considered suspicious but police continue to investigate.

Police closed Webster Avenue from Main Street to Jones Street for several hours.

New Rochelle Police Detectives and the New Rochelle Fire Department Arson investigator were called to the scene.

A News12 crew was in the area covering the crash of an SUV into a telephone pole when they learned of the fire. They shot some incredible video but their video is only available to Cablevision subscriber. We have included several screen grabs from their coverage in our slideshow (above). Caution, some of the images are graphic.
