NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Mr. Jeffrey T. White, CPA, brings high-level school district financial management experience to his position as Assistant Superintendent for Business and Administration in the City School District of New Rochelle. Most recently, Mr. White served as Assistant Superintendent for Business and Management Services in the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District, where he is responsible for a $156 million budget that funds educating nearly 7,500 students.

“I am enthusiastic about this work and the opportunity to make a difference in New Rochelle schools,” said White. “I will focus immediately on crafting a well-honed 2015-16 school district budget and look forward to collaborating with the talented CSDNR management team and the wonderful New Rochelle community.”

Prior to his position at Monroe-Woodbury, Mr. White was Fiscal Administrator, New York State Education Department and then appointed by the Commissioner of Education as financial administrator to oversee the first state takeover of a New York school district (Roosevelt, LI).

“Mr. White brings exactly the kind of excellent experience and background we need in our district,” said New Rochelle Board of Education President Lianne Merchant. “We are truly fortunate to have such a well-qualified individual joining our New Rochelle schools.”

In earlier roles, he held the same position in the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District as in Monroe-Woodbury and was School Business Administrator and Purchasing Agent in the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District. Mr. White is a candidate for a doctoral degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and holds an M.S.Ed. degree in school administration from Long Island University, as well as M.B.A. in accounting and B.S. in finance degrees from St. John’s University.

“Mr. White is effective in leading all business operational areas we have in our schools: an extensive transportation system, professionally managed food services, a proactive facilities department, a well coordinated security team, and an innovative technology division,” said Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne. “We look forward to benefiting from his proven financial and administrative leadership.”
