CNR Blue Angeles Picks Up First Win at Dual Swim Meet

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In their second dual meet of the year, The College of New Rochelle Swim Team picked up their first win of the season splitting the meet between College of Mount Saint Vincent and St. Joseph’s College. The Blue Angels lost to St. Joseph’s College 106-74 but were able to hold off Mount St. Vincent 88-71 to secure their first win.

 
Ilsy Rodriguez got out to a fast start for the Blue Angels as she broke yet another record on the season. Earning a first place victory in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:23.65 breaking her own personal record from earlier in the season. Rodriguez also swam her way to a second place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle at 30.81.
 
Barrett Pritchard also swam well for the Blue Angels, picking up two third place finishes in the 50 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Freestyle. She was also among the second place 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team with teammates Claudia Benitez, Rodriguez and Zuri Mena.
 
Benitez, Rita SaadAllison Gurney Meghan King and Angela Avalos helped the Blue Angels along the way to secure their first team victory.
 
The College of New Rochelle will stay at the Wellness Center for their next dual meet taking on Sarah Lawrence College and the College at Old Westbury Saturday January 24 beginning at 4:30pm.
