Misappropriation of New Rochelle School Funds by David Lacher Featured in Year in Review Edition of City Review Newspaper

Written By: Robert Cox

A May 2014 article by Katie Hoos for the City Review of New Rochelle,  Discussion Of Board President’s Finances Gets Heated, was selected as one of the featured stories in the 2014 Year in Review editions.

Former School Board President David Lacher — not renewed for second year in office after Talk of the Sound revealed that he had misappropriated over $13,000 in school district funds to pay for his private medical insurance — is featured on the cover of the newspaper.

Hoos wrote:

Through a series of Freedom of Information Law requests filed by Robert Cox, publisher of the [Talk of the Sound], it was revealed the district was paying Lacher’s premiums and was seeking reimbursement for the payments while Lacher continued to be covered. The district repeatedly reached out to Lacher, requesting payment and threatening to terminate his policy.
