New Rochelle High School’s Black History Spoken Word and Art Exhibit is Seeking Student Submissions

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Organizers of New Rochelle High School’s Black History Spoken Word and Art Exhibit is seeking student submissions.

The event will celebrate Black History Month in February by commemorating the life, work and legacy of Dr. Maya Angelou.

Student-age New Rochelle residents are asked to submit works, based on the themes of Freedom and Empowerment, by Friday, February 13th. Submissions should be sent to Shelli Owens. She can be reached at sowens@newrochelle.k12.ny.us or 914-576-4401.

The exhibition will run from February 27th until March 6th with an Opening on Saturday, February 28th.
