NEW ROCHELLE, NY — On Satuday, The New Rochelle Fire Department responded to reports of smoke on the top floor of the apartment building at 77 Centre Avenue in downtown New Rochelle, NY.
Residents self-evacuated and there were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters responded quickly and the fire was soon knocked down.
Traffic on Main Street and Huguenot Street near Centre Avenue was briefly closed to traffic.
An apartment on the top floor of the building appears to be gutted.
