NEW ROCHELLE, NY — On Thursday night at the Monroe Athletic Complex (MAC), the Monroe women’s basketball team defeated their conference rival Orange County Community College with a 73-57 victory. Now holding an 18-7 season record, this latest win is a valuable confidence boost to the team as they advance toward the end of the regular season and head into postseason play.
Sophomore guard Aaliyah Mercer led the way for Monroe with 18 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Meanwhile, sophomore Tiashana Morris had a solid night offensively, coming off the bench scoring 13 points and shooting 50 percent from the field.
The team’s next home game is this Thursday evening (2/12) when they host ASA at 5:00pm.
