NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Mr. Arnold Garrett Jackson, of New Rochelle, NY completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle, NY.

Mr. Jackson was employed at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center as a custodian and community service worker.

Mr. Jackson was born April 13, 1954, the son of the late Edna Stroman Jackson and Calvin Leroy Jackson, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories Mary Jordan of New Rochelle, NY; four sons, Arnold Jackson, Jr. and Lavone Mott of New Rochelle, NY, Karam (Latasha) Cummings of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Orlando Stokes of Blacksburg, VA; two daughters, Charnika Jordan and Shaqueena Mott of New Rochelle, NY. Four sisters, Karen (Otis) Nixon of Castle Hayne, NC, Dorothy Reed of Matthews, NC, Serena (Jay) Tillman of Poughkeepsie, NY and Louise (William) Jackson-Clark of Columbia, SC; one brother, Calvin (Jackie) Jackson of Poughkeepsie, NY; one aunt, Dorothy Turner of Raleigh, NC; two uncles, Richard Stroman, and Franklin Jackson both of Poughkeepsie, NY; 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by, four brothers, Chester, Stephen, Alton Jackson, and Willie Reed Jr. and one sister, Edna Jackson.

He was loved by many in his community and took the time out to deliver food to families in need throughout his community. He was a very humorous, loving, and caring person and will be missed by many family members and friends.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Jackson will be Monday, March 2, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Smith Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 124 Smith St, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Rev. Dr. H. Dwight Bolton will officiate. Professional service entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, 43 Fairview Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
