Astorino: What Makes Westchester Smart?

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

As part of the 2015 Westchester Smart campaign, a series of initiatives launched in January to promote economic growth and more responsive government, County Executive Robert P. Astorino wants to hear what residents think makes Westchester smart.

“Our goal with this campaign is to position Westchester for the future,” Astorino said. “We need to make smart decisions now so that we can grow our vibrant and diverse county for years to come. Thanks to social media we are excited to hear what residents think makes Westchester the smart choice.”

The Westchester Smart campaign is a result of candid roundtable discussions with community leaders from six diverse sectors. All participants were asked to fill out a questionnaire to help position Westchester for the future. The questions highlighted three overarching themes: What are Westchester’s greatest strengths, challenges and how can the county work to bridge the gap between the two? The responses led to the creation of a comprehensive report designed to provide a foundation for shaping Westchester County for the future.

Now, the county executive wants to hear from you. Over the next several weeks, a series of questions will be asked via the county’s various social media platforms. Astorino invites residents to submit thoughtful responses – photos and videos are encouraged.

Selected responses will be featured as part of a multi-media display at the 2015 State of the County Address. Afterwards, the display will be housed at the County Office Building in White Plains.
