NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Nancy Moreno, 50, arrested twice in the past two years, is back at work as a Special Education aide at Isaac E. Young Middle School. She returned to work Wednesday April 8th.
Moreno was arrested on December 3, 2014 as part of Operation City Sweeper II, a seven month long operation conducted by the New Rochelle Police Department’s Special Investigation Unit. Drugs purchased during sting operations included primarily crack cocaine and heroin but also marijuana, hydrocodone, PCP, morphine and fentanyl.
Moreno was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B Felony, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B Felony, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A Misdemeanor. A Class B felony carries with it up to a 25 year prison sentence with a minimum of between one year to one-third of the maximum sentence given.
Moreno is due back in New Rochelle Court on April 29th.
On September 29, 2012, Moreno was arrested after she allegedly assaulted a woman with a closet rod.
The incident began as a dispute over a dog defecating on private property. Moreno and her daughter pushed their way into the victim’s home. Moreno was arrested at the scene after a call to New Rochelle police.
