NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City School District of New Rochelle will launch its inaugural Arts Out Loud showcase Thursday on April 30 at 6:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

The celebration marks the expansion of the district’s successful elementary level Poetry Out Loud program to its middle school community.

Arts Out Loud represents a major step forward for the creative arts in New Rochelle schools. It provides an unrivaled opportunity for students in 7th and 8th grade to raise their voices in the arts. For the first time, in front of an audience expected to be in the hundreds, students will share their unique voice and vision through poetry, visual arts, and music. Students have been preparing since January.

Poetry Out Loud and Arts Out Loud run in partnership with the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence. Since its launch in 1988, Poetry Out Loud has impacted thousands of students in the New Rochelle schools.
