NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association of New Rochelle will host its annual New Rochelle Memorial Day Weekend on Monday May 25th at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle, NY. The event will include patriotic ceremonies, music, great food and some amazing military aircraft which will land in the park where members of the public will have the chance to tour the aircraft up close and meet the crews.

“Bring a blanket or a chair and stay for the day,” said UVM&PA President Peter Parente.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with the Traditional Service and Wreath Laying at Memorial Plaza Memorial Highway and Main Street. The New Rochelle High School will perform.

At noon, the UVM&PA will hold its annual Water Service at Glen Island Park followed by Veterans Appreciation Event.

  • 168th US Army Band in Concert
  • The American Bombshells
  • The Allies
  • Third Stone
  • Rebecca Haviland and the Whiskey Hearts

Fabulous Food

  • AJ Burgers
  • Pronto Pizza

USMC Aircraft Landing In Park

There will be exhibits, games and patriotic displays.

The weekend’s services will begin with the traditional Memorial Service & Grave Flag Replacement at Beechwood Cemetery. This is a special event held on Sunday May 24th. It’s a great way to remember those who served their country and always gets a strong turnout for the ceremonies before the flags are replaced.

The UVM&PA is looking for volunteers. Those interested to help can meet at the main entrance of Beechwood Cemetery at 9 a.m. There will be flags enough to honor each grave.

If you have questions or would like to volunteer to set up or work at the event please call Peter Parente at 914-557-5556.
