BELLEROSE, NY – In their first meeting since nearly upsetting the Lady Bears, the Blue Angels were unable to overcome dominant St. Joseph’s College-Brooklyn pitching, dropping both ends of a non-conference twin bill at Padavan-Preller Field.
In the opener, the Lady Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning and cruised to a 10-0 win. Lyndsey Edwards tallied the lone CNR hit for the game, singling with two out in the top of the first. Sheila Conde went the distance for the Blue Angels, striking out two.
Rosa Angeles singled with one out in the third of the second game to tally CNR’s only hit in the nightcap. St. Joe’s pitching struck out 10 in a 13-0 win. Edwards pitched all four innings for the Blue Angels.
