NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police are on the look out for a Level 3 Sex Offender from New Rochelle who has reportedly attacked several people on Main Street in recent days.
Christopher Welch, 38, is a registered sex offender from New Rochelle but is listed on the New York State Sex Offender Registry as residing at a homeless shelter in Valhalla. In 2009, Welch was convicted of persistent sexual abuse, a class “E” felony.
Welch is a male/black, 5’5”, weight 130 pounds, brown eyes/black hair.
Welch was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2009 after he was convicted for forcibly touching a Mount Vernon Public Library employee and a second person outside the library in 2008.
Residents are advised to steer clear of Welch who is considered dangerous and to notify police,
