NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle (CNR) welcomed nearly 100 special guests to an intimate dinner and conversation with baseball’s greatest closer, Mariano Rivera on Thursday, May 7, 2015. The event was hosted by Lesley and John Nicholson at their home in Greenwich, Connecticut. At the event, Rivera spoke candidly about his career and family during an interview facilitated by CNR Trustee Fr. Leo O’Donovan, SJ. Proceeds from the event will benefit academic and leadership scholarships, including the Mariano & Clara Rivera Scholarship at The College of New Rochelle.
“Most of you know Mariano Rivera as the greatest closer in baseball, but I have had the privilege to get to know him as an extraordinary model of someone determined to make an impact by dedicating his gifts and talents to helping others less fortunate,” said Judith Huntington, President of The College of New Rochelle, at the event last night.
