WHITE PLAINS, NY –County Executive Robert P. Astorino invites everyone to swing and sway to the romantic music of the Big Band era performed by the Milt Gerver Orchestra on Fridays, July 17, 24, 31 and August 7 on the boardwalk at Playland Park in Rye.

“Playland is known for all of its great bells and whistles—the Dragon Coaster and Double Shot rides are great thrills. But this event highlights one of the simpler delights the park has to offer: a beautiful summer evening on the boardwalk, listening to great music,” Astorino said.

From7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. each week, Milt and his orchestra will evoke the nostalgic music of the immortal bandleaders of the 1930s and ’40s like Glen Miller and Tommy Dorsey, accompanied by his professional vocalists. Jive to the lively “In the Mood,” waltz to the beautiful strains of “Moonlight Serenade,” or just sit back and enjoy the music and moonlight.

As an added bonus, you can watch the Friday NightFireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

Admission to the Big Band performances on the boardwalk is free. Seating is limited; visitors can bring folding chairs.

Parking is $5 on Friday evening, $1 for senior citizens with a Westchester County Park Pass.  Please use the poolside parking entrance.

All events will be held weather permitting; rain date is Friday, August 14
