NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A 23-year old New York City man was arrested in the Hudson Park parking lot near Wildcliff Road in New Rochelle, NY on Sunday July 12th at about 5 p.m. and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.

Patrick C. Williams was inside a grey Hyundai with Pennsylvania plate with a woman. The vehicle was parked in a permit only area. An approaching police officer smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and interviewed Williams who told police there was a “spliff’ in the vehicle. A spliff is a cigar where marijuana is used to replace the tobacco.

Williams was arrested.

A search of the vehicle turned up a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance which appeared to be marijuana. Williams and the woman denied possessing the bag which was then confiscated and taken to police headquarters for destruction.

Williams was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned on July 24, 2015.
