WHITE PLAINS, NY –Marissa Brett, president of the Westchester County Association, was one of three to capture the Community Service Award as conferred by United Hebrew of New Rochelle, an assisted care, rehabilitation center, and nursing home. Also honored were Father Martin Biglin, pastor at Holy Name Church in New Rochelle, and Pearl Quarles, former Westchester County Legislator (the first African American), member of the board of United Hebrew of New Rochelle and an active member of various community organizations.
This was the 6th Annual Community Service Awards presentation, and in the words of Rita C. Mabli, president and CEO, United Hebrew, “the most moving and the best ever!” She said: “All of the honorees have taken action to make our community a better place… Marissa Brett, who is president of the Westchester County Association, does this through the BLUEPRINT for Westchester, the WCA’s major economic development initiative to revitalize the Westchester economy.”
As president of the WCA, the business leadership organization that serves Westchester County and the region, Brett is leading efforts to drive economic vitality. Westchester County is undergoing a dramatic transformation, thanks to her and the WCA’s efforts, with development and repurposing projects underway, designed to create Work.Live.Play communities for young professionals, new initiatives to attract and grow early stage companies, and critical support to help Westchester’s burgeoning healthcare and life sciences sectors flourish. These positive developments result in large part from Brett’s leadership of the WCA’s aggressive economic development initiative, the BLUEPRINT for Westchester, which she has spearheaded for the past three years.
