Police Respond in Force to Report of Home Invasion and Pistol-Whipping

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle police responded in force to a report that a man was robbed and assaulted by two unknown Male/Blacks at 364 North Avenue in New Rochelle, NY shortly after midnight on July 27th.

The complainant appeared at police headquarters at about 1:00 a.m. bleeding from the head. He stated that he was pistol-whipped and robbed. He said he was in Suite 111 when he was attacked by two unknown men wearing black masks and white tank tops. He further stated that the men attacked him while he was in his bedroom. The two men beat him up, and struck him on the left side of the head with a small black handgun.

Complainant states that he and the men fought for a minute before he was able to break away and run downstairs, out the door and into a cab, he took the cab to police headquarters to report the incident. He also stated his “cousin” was in the apartment at the time of the attack.

Police investigating the scene did find blood but were unable to determine if anything was missing.

The complainant was taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Medical Center where doctors determined he did not have any serious injuries. He needed stitches for the lacerations above his left eyebrow and on his left cheek. He was treated and released.

Complainant could not provide any further suspect information or description at this time. He stated multiple times that he did not wish to pursue charges at this time.
