NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police arrested Elan Vargas, 17, after a dispute with his sister over a TV remote allegedly turned violent on July 29th.
Police responded to a report of an assault at an apartment building on Drake Avenue in New Rochelle.
Complainant stated that her brother Elan Vargas had assaulted her. She told police that she and her brother had a verbal argument over the television remote control and her brother grabbed the remote and it became physical. She said her brother pushed her to the floor and punched her many times, picked her up, grabbed her hair and banged her head on the wall, breaking the mirror on the wall.
Complainant stated that she had pain all all over her body, to her nose , head, left elbow, and left leg. She stated that she wanted her brother arrested for what he did to her.
Vargas was located by police outside the apartment building and take into police custody. He was charged with Assault 3rd Degree with Intent to Cause Physical Injury, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Harassment 2nd Degree.
