WHAT:           Two separate ceremonies to honor William E. Mounteney, appointed 100 years ago as Westchester’s first salaried, full-time probation officer. 

The first ceremony will unveil a gravesite monument at Mounteney’s final resting place that had been sadly unmarked for 52 years.

The second, more formal ceremony has a full program of speakers and will take place at the Westchester County Courthouse.

WHEN:           Wednesday, August 12, 2015

First ceremony – 10 a.m.

Second ceremony – 2 p.m.

WHERE:         First ceremony – Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.  Use 75 Grasslands Rd. which will bring you just across from the Tower Entrance where an official will be stationed to direct you to gravesite (10 a.m.) 

Second ceremony – Westchester County Courthouse, Central Jury Room, White Plains (2 p.m.)
