NEW YORK, NY — The Iona College volleyball team fell to Rider in three sets in its 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener on the road at Alumni Gym. The Broncs took the match 25-19, 25-17, 25-19.
Freshman OH Claire Archibald posted 12 kills and six digs to lead the Gaels. Rookie MB Mia Bonsignore had five kills and two blocks. Senior setter Natalie Ziskin led the way with 28 assists while freshman libero Jessica Paolucci posted 15 digs.
Rider was led by nine kills from Hailey Riede, 16 assists from Veronica Koval and 22 digs from Emma Aldaya.
The Gaels are back in action Friday morning in Austin, TX at the 2015 Texas Invitational hosted by the University of Texas.
