NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College football team closed out its 2015 season with a 23-13 loss to Dean College on Saturday in Massachusetts. The undermanned Mustangs put up a valiant effort, led by sophomore quarterback, Jalen Jones, who threw a pair of touchdown passes.
Rakeem Langston and Elijah Smith were favorite targets for Jones on Saturday. Langston hauled in four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown. Smith added five receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. In the backfield, Donte Carter gained 90 yards on the ground, including an 18-yard scamper.
Matt Jackson and Kamari Jones Hunter each led the defense with seven tackles. Tikere Ralands and Tuzar Skipper recorded a sack apiece. The team finished the 2015 campaign with a 3-6 overall mark with wins over Valley Forge Military Academy, Nassau Community College and Globe Tech.
