Swimming Drops a Pair to CMSV and St Joseph’s Brooklyn

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle swim team lost a tri-meet to the College of Mount Saint Vincent and St Joseph’s College – Brooklyn on Monday night in the Aquatic Center. 

The team fell to Bears 119-67 and also dropped the contest to CMSV 145-59.

Senior Claudia Benitez (White Plains, NY) continued her strong season, narrowly missing a school record in the 200yd breaststroke while finishing 2nd in the event. 

Freshman Hailey Hall (Rouses Point, NY) stepped up for the Blue Angels with a second place finish in the 1000yd freestyle and a third place finish in the 500yd freestyle.

Freshman Serena Eljamal (Langrangeville, NY) completed a personal best time in the 100yd backstroke, as did freshman Ellen Murphy (West Hempstead, NY) and sophomore Fabiola Padilla Rios (San Juan, PR) in the 50yd freestyle. 

Senior Shannon Micallef (New York, NY) competed in her final meet, and swam personal best times in the 100yd backstroke and 200yd backstroke. 

CNR will return to the pool after the Thanksgiving break when they travel to Drew Univserity on Dec 4.
