Students Fight at New Rochelle High: Police responded to New Rochelle High School Dec. 23 after learning of a fight in Room 115. A security guard, who witnessed the incident, told police that the students involved in the altercation had been separated. The House 1 Principal told police that three students started a fight with another student and a security guard and a student were injured during the incident, the police report said. A student, whose nose was bleeding, told police another student had punched him in the face, and he wanted to pursue charges, police said in their report.

Boyfriend Assaults Girlfriend: Police were called to the Motefiero Hospital Emergency Room Dec. 27 following a domestic dispute that occurred about 6 p.m. Dec. 24. The complainant told police she had an argument with her boyfriend on Christmas Eve and he allegedly hit her on the right temple with his fist, the police report said. The woman told police her boyfriend has not returned to their residence since the incident. She did not pursue criminal charges against her boyfriend, the police report said.

Man Sells Narcotics on North Avenue: An off-duty New Rochelle Police officer witnessed a man allegedly selling narcotics Dec. 27 on the corner of North Avenue and Lockwood Avenue and called Officer Michael Vaccaro. The off-duty officer told Vaccaro he was stopped at a red light when he saw a black male, who he knows by name, making hand gestures to another black male at the intersection. The known suspect reached into his front right pocket of his sweatshirt and pulled out an unknown white object, which the off-duty officer said he believed was narcotics, and gave it to the unknown black male. The off-duty officer gave Vaccaro a description of both of the men, according to the police report. When the known suspect saw police, he fled the scene, while placing his right hand into the right pocket of his sweatshirt and removing it quickly, the report said. Police said they believe the suspect concealed an unknown item from his right hand into the right pocket of his sweatshirt, the report said.

Man Steals Medicine: A New Rochelle man allegedly stole two bottles of over-the-counter medicine just before 5 p.m. Dec. 27 from Shoprite, 8 Joyce Road. A store security guard told police that he saw the suspect take two packages of ZzzQuil from a shelf and leave the empty medicine boxes on a different shelf inside the store while concealing the medicine bottles in his hand. The suspect then paid for other items and tried to exit the store, when the security guard confronted him, the police report said. The security guard told police he did not find the ZzzQuil on the suspect. Video surveillance footage showed the suspect holding two ZzzQuil bottles in his hand before proceeding to the cash register, the report said. The whereabouts of the medicine are unknown, police said. The suspect was not placed under arrest but was banned from the premise, the police report said.

Unknown Suspect Steals Woman’s Social Security Number; Opens Bank Account: A New Rochelle woman told police Dec. 23 she received a letter in the mail about a checking account she never opened. She contacted Capital One 360 and told them about the alleged fraud, according to the police report. She told police that someone used her social security number to open an online checking account at the bank.

Woman Loses Diamond Ring at New Roc City Plaza: A woman told New Rochelle Police Dec. 23 that someone stole her diamond ring Dec. 8 from New Roc City Plaza. The complainant told police that on Dec. 8, she dropped her wallet at New Roc City Plaza while opening the lift gate. She told police a security guard returned her wallet to her 15 minutes later. When she looked inside her wallet, her money, credit cards and documents were still in the wallet, the police report stated. However, she told police she did not check another pocket inside the wallet that she alleged contained a 2-carat solitaire diamond ring with a gold band worth $25,000. The complainant discovered the missing ring when she arrived at a jeweler on Dec, 22 to have it appraised, she said. The woman told police the wallet had been in her possession since it was returned to her by the security guard.

Thief Steals USPS Package: A New Rochelle woman told police on Dec 27 that a package sent from her mother and delivered to her front door was allegedly stolen. The woman told police that her mother sent her a package from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, containing three Nintendo Wii remote controllers and a blazer. Upon checking the tracking number, she learned the package had been delivered Dec. 23 and left near her front door. She asked the building manager to review footage from the surveillance camera, which is located by the front door of the woman’s residence.

Thief Steals Cash and Credit Card during Christmas Party: A New Rochelle woman told police Dec. 27 that someone allegedly stole two $50 bills from her wallet during a Christmas party after she left her wallet in a room with other party goers’ belongings. She told police she noticed the missing money when she left the party at 6 p.m. The woman said her Citibank credit card was also missing, however, she did not realize it was gone until the following day, the police report said. She told police she immediately called the bank and notified them about the missing card, the report said. The bank told the woman that her credit card was charged $600, including $400 at Victoria’s Secret, by an unknown person.

Man Steals Drill From Home Depot: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of theft from Home Depot, 55 Weyman Ave., just after 8:30 a.m. Dec. 27. According to the police report, an employee at the Home Depot store told police he witnessed a black male allegedly remove a Milwaukee drill machine from its box and place it underneath his jacket. The man then walked past the registers without paying for the drill. The employee told police he confronted the man and identified himself as a loss prevention employee. The man then allegedly pushed the employee out of his way and ran northbound on Weyman Avenue. When officers arrived near the scene, they saw a black male running north on Weyman Avenue. The suspect then turned left onto Main Street before running into the Sleepy’s upper parking lot. Officers canvassed the area but did not find the suspect. They recovered a drill and a right-foot, Nike Airmax shoe, size 12, the police report said.

Men Arrested for DWI: Carlos Reyes-Maldonado, 34, of New Rochelle, was arrested by New Rochelle Police Dec. 24 for first-offense driving while intoxicated. Waldemar Infante, 26, of New York, was arrested by New Rochelle Police Dec. 27 for first-offense DWI.

Security Guard Takes iPhone Home: New Rochelle Police responded to a report from a Regal Cinema employee who lost his phone at the cinema, 32 Lecourt Place, and then located it by using the phone’s locator app. He located the phone at the address of one of his co-workers on Dec. 23. The complainant told police he asked the manager of the Bronx location where his phone was allegedly located who lived at the address, the police report states. The manager told the employee he would only disclose the resident’s name with the police’s permission, the police report said. The manager told police that a security guard who worked at the cinema lived at the address and provided police with the guard’s phone number. When police called her phone, she told them that she had found the phone in the theater but forgot to bring it to lost and found. She returned the phone and no charges were filed.
