NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Dorothy E. Rose, a long-time resident of New Rochelle, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016.
She was born in Waterbury, CT. on April 27, 1925 to James and Mary (nee Morrissey) Kelly, she moved to New Rochelle when she was 3. She graduated from Albert Leonard High School in 1942 and married her husband in January of 1946. After raising her children, Dorothy worked at the New Rochelle Public Library, retiring as the head of circulation in 1988.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Andrew and by her daughter, Susan. She is survived by her devoted sons, Andrew Jr. (Pamela) and Richard (Louise) and her cherished grandchildren, Andrew J. (Kristen), Kaitlin (Alfred), Marie (Adam), Jaclyn, Richard and Andrew III.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, New Rochelle with interment to follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
