NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Caroline Doctorow’s bluegrass band will perform a concert, The Great American Song Revival, on Saturday, March 12, from 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library. The concert was originally scheduled for January 24 but was cancelled due to a snowstorm.
Ms. Doctorow’s very personal tribute to songwriters of the ’60s has been called, “folk music at its finest.” A mesmerizing vocalist and champion of American folk music, she has released 9 folk/Americana albums and is widely admired for delivering a song with a velveteen voice. In this program she and her band will focus on the folk music of performers such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Donovan, Richard and Mimi Farina, John Hartford and Dave Van Ronk.
The concert will conclude with a program announcing New Rochelle’s special tribute to the late E.L. Doctorow, followed by a reception.
The concert is made possible by the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library. A donation of $2.00 is suggested at the door.
