NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona College baseball team fell to Fordham 19-2 in non-conference action at Houlihan Park. Senior C/1B Carmine Palummo led the Gaels with three hits and two runs scored in the loss.

Palummo went 3-for-3 with a walk in the contest, reaching base in all four plate appearances and collecting his third double of the season. He extended his hitting streak to five games, a stretch that has seen his batting average improve 52 points to a team leading .333. Senior LF Travis Mistretta also extended a hitting streak with a 2-for-4 day. Rookie 2B Sean Breen had his team-leading 13th multi-hit effort, also going 2-for-4.

Iona is back in action this weekend with a three-game MAAC series at Quinnipiac beginning Saturday (Apr. 16).
