Jameson Earns All-American Honor At NCAA Championships

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Iona College women’s outdoor track & field grad Tara Jameson earned her first All-American honor by placing seventh in the 10,000 meter final at the NCAA Championships at the University of Oregon’s historic Hayward Field.

In her first of two races this weekend, Jameson set a new personal-best of 32:52.92. This is the third straight year the Iona women’s outdoor track & field team has had an All-American honoree, with Katie Avery finishing eight in 2014 and fourth in 2015. 

Arkansas senior and South African Olympic hopeful Dominque Scott crossed the finish line first with a time of 32:35.69. 

Jameson will take tomorrow to prepare for Saturday’s 5,000 meter final which be live on ESPN at 8:25pm. 

Up next for the Maroon & Gold is sophomore Chartt Miller, who will compete in the men’s 5,000 meter run tomorrow at 10:25pm also on ESPN.
