Educational Leadership Appointments Top Agenda at July 5 CSDNR Board of Education Meeting

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — At the July 5 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Magda Parvey was appointed to the newly established position of Assistant Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer. In this role, Dr. Parvey will oversee all instructional programs and develop robust short and long range goals for New Rochelle’s instructional program that emanate from the district’s Strategic Roadmap of 2015. This position is seen as an integral part of the district’s effort to provide all students with rigorous learning experiences and prepare them to thrive as critical thinkers and problem solvers who are college and/or career ready.

“Dr. Parvey will bring a depth of experience and knowledge in curriculum design, instructional leadership and supervision to our schools; crucial components to the district’s strategic plan,” said Dr. Brian Osborne, Superintendent of Schools. “I am very excited for the future of the CSDNR under her leadership in the area(s) of strategic planning for curriculum and instruction.”

Also, Dan Goldberg and Patrick Keevins were appointed to serve as assistant principals at Albert Leonard Middle School (ALMS).

Mr. Goldberg is making a return back to New Rochelle. He is a graduate of Ward Elementary, ALMS and New Rochelle High School. Currently, Mr. Goldberg has been serving the Clarkstown North school district and working as an assistant principal at their high school. Mr. Goldberg has a teaching background in secondary Social Studies, with a grade 7 – 12 license. He is excited to come back home and to work in a district that he regards so highly.

Mr. Keevins has been working as the district-wide Physical Education and Health chairperson. Over the past year, Mr. Keevins has immersed himself in all aspects of our school programs. He previously taught elementary school as a second grade classroom teacher, and has worked with secondary students at various levels in his roles as a coach, teacher and athletic director. Mr. Keevins is eager to devote his time and attention to the ALMS community and offer instructional leadership across all content areas. He feels fortunate to already know many of our community members and enthusiastic to serve as one of two new assistant principals.

Mr. Daniel Gonzalez title was changed to Assistant Principal, Isaac E. Young Middle School.
