Homeless Man Found Dead in Woods Near North Avenue Bridge in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A homeless man died in the woods between the North Avenue Bridge and apartment buildings on Park Place.

New Rochelle Police and New Yotk State Police responded to the scene this afternoon, a small strip of property owned by New York State.

Residents at 46 Park Place say two men lived in the woods.

Police on scene said the body had been there for about two days, two of the warmest days this summer. Police said it appeared the man died of natural causes were awaiting the arrival of the Westchester County Medical Examiner to make an official determination.
