NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Rocco Varbaro, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on June 18, 2016. He was 89.
Rocco was born on July 5, 1926 in Scilla, Reggio Calabria Italy to the late Rocco and Antonia (Labozetta) Varbaro. On September 4, 1955 he married the former Maria Arbitrio, who predeceased him on October 18, 2007.
He is survived by two sons, Pat and his wife Kathy and Anthony Varbaro; two daughters, Nancy DiMarino and her husband Robert and Flavia Garufi and her husband Chris; 6 grandchildren, Kaila, Anthony, Nicole, Robert, Gianna and Marco; His brothers Giuseppe (Grazia) Varbaro and Antonio (Santa) Varbaro; his sister Giuseppa Imbesi and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Mass is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.
