NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In a battle of two schools separated by mere blocks, Lehman College, our neighbors to the north, took a 3-0 victory over the Monroe College JV women’s soccer team on Tuesday. The team is now 0-2 on the season.

The game was closer than the score would indicate, as the Mustangs had several scoring chances. The first half saw the two biggest scoring opportunities, although one was sent over the crossbar and the other was played by the keeper. The Mustangs trailed 2-0 at the half.

The second half saw Monroe play a few players down due to injuries. Bevoween Piard was a standout in the midfield, where her defensive acumen limited the Lightning’s attack. Additionally, Ingrid Da Silva made a save in the final minutes of play to keep the score at 3-0.

The Monroe College JV women’s soccer team will return to action on Thursday, September 15th, against The King’s College in New York City. The kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
